He also led change management workshops for 100 stakeholders affected by the amalgamation of two enterprise-wide finance and human resources IT systems at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development. As Director of Corporate Systems at Health Canada, Paul designed and drove organizational change processes with two different software development organizations. Paul’s focus with The Lean Advisors Team is to build the “Lean for IT” domain which means applying Lean methods to typical IT areas such as service management, software development project management and IT planning and governance. Paul has lived the experience of over-engineering IT projects and solutions which can fail to bring business value yet deliver cost overruns. Lean for IT means understanding value, bringing “just enough” technology and services, reducing duplication and over-processing, while optimizing process flow in order to drive greater value from IT investments.
